If You Want It You May Not Need It

  • Reflections

I once heard a thought that stayed with me.
Wanting something often means it is not truly needed.
No one says they want toothpaste.
Because toothpaste represents necessity.
What is essential rarely becomes desire.
Wanting usually grows around what we can live without.
So when desire appears I reconsider my standard.
Is this essential or merely wanted.
